Sometimes I hate the shower. It’s where I get those crazy ideas that I really want to do but probably never will because it’s just not feasible.

So the idea revolves around Syndicate. What you need to know about it to start is that it’s comprised of a lot of short stories that link into one another and will be a few books worth of these. The other important bit is that, while I don’t intend on mentioning it directly in the series, it all takes place in the lower mainland.

So here’s the idea.

Make a bunch of tiny video clips of only about thirty seconds or less. Each of these would be a snapshot of something that happens in one of the stories or at some point around them. Something from another perspective maybe. Something related. Just have a ton of these little clips and put them in a hidden place online.

Once that’s done, stickers. Each sticker has a QR code on them that is specific to each clip. Once we have them, we take a field trip around the lower mainland and put them up in the spots where the videos would have happened.

What ends up happening is people waiting at a bus stop with a.smart phone can see the code, scan it and see a little clip of something that happened there in a fictional universe. And maybe they would look into it more. Maybe it would be talked about and I could get a little buzz.

It would just be cool to do, honestly. Just to actually see my story come alive like that.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of reasons I can’t do it right now. Like the whole being too poor to hire actors or a film crew, even a student one. There’s also the fact that I don’t have the number of stories that would make this a worthwhile adventure yet. And I have no idea note to get filming permits for some of the areas of town.

There’s also the whole part where I’m doing all this to advertise a book. A BOOK. With no pictures. Somehow it seems a little silly.

Still, in a couple years, who knows? I may just find a willing cast and crew.And figure out all the rest of the stuff I need for it.

But before that, I need to finish editing the first chapter.
