Creative on a health break
Spoilers? But this was revealed several books ago, so I’m feeling pretty safe about it. Today we have a quick look at Matt when he arrived in Neverland.
Since appearing in the forest, Matt was blindfolded, tied up, and taken away. They spoke in hushed tones, terror in every word. They needed direction.
They finally let him see. These were all scared kids.
“Who are you?”
Matt grinned. “Your new leader.”
Lance is the middle triplet and one of eight children. He does his best to stay out of drama and keep his head down, but he will always be available to anyone who might need him. Somehow, this has led to him getting pulled into the madness of Wonderland time and time again, whether he’s wanted to or not.
Another month, another set of Looking Glass Saga quotes! One of these months I’ll do another book, but this is kind of my life right now!
In today’s microfic ((I’m doing this as 250 characters or less)) of The Looking Glass Saga, a quick look at Rayne after catching Alice looking in the mirror back in Paint the Roses Red.
Rayne saw what was in the mirror. Alice talked about Wonderland as a child. After that afternoon, Rayne thought she was seeing things. She thought they were all in her head.
But they were in the mirror too. The mirror…
It was in her head. It had to be.
Arthur woke up not in the Avalon or the body he had fallen asleep in. He may be younger, but he knows that something strange has happened to the land he once was trying to conquer, and he recognizes the woman who has come back to try and set things back to the way things were.
And that is all he knows. Everything else is strange and different and new. And he does not like it.

Whenever she read there were flowers. When she dreamed, the flowers talked. From the walls, through the floors, growing from nothing. It wasn’t normal.
There would be no madness in this house. No more dreams. No more stories. He would make her normal.
Peter Pan came to Wonderland after Neverland went from his dream to his nightmare. He may still be a child at heart, but his home is no longer a place of safety and fun, and slowly he’s learning that maybe it’s time for him to grow up. Maybe he’s been a child for long enough, and it’s time for someone else to take his place.
I’ve started writing little bits of microfiction ((Small scenes that don’t appear in The Looking Glass Saga.)) that are 250 characters or less. Because I like a challenge. Here is one from during Jabberwocky’s Book, when Sarah is taken by the Bandersnatch.
“Please don’t eat me!” Rob yelled as he ran away.
Those words doomed Sarah to a lifetime of being frozen. Not eaten, but forever still with only her thoughts. She would never be free again.
But the words that trapped her…
She would have done the same.
A while back, I did a reading for a podcast. Since I can’t find the podcast any longer, and I still have the audio, I thought I’d throw it up here! Let me know if you want me to do more of these and… I’ll probably keep doing more of them, honestly. It’s fun.
